DAVENPORT, IOWA (June  7th, 2017) – Since 1993, Habitat for Humanity Quad Cities has sheltered over 430 individuals through decent and affordable housing.  On Saturday, June 10th at 10:00 AM, six more people will be moving into their new Habitat Home. Jerry and Michelle Anguiano and their children Elida, Ariana, Gerando, and Michelle’s mother Patricia are excited to be moving into their new home.

Courage Ride has raised over $380,000 since 2005 to help advance sarcoma research

IOWA CITY—Courage Ride, a cycling fundraiser returning for its twelfth year on August 19, has to date raised over $380,000 to advance local research of sarcoma, a rare form of cancer, and to support one of the largest sarcoma tissue banks in the Midwest.

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (May 31, 2017) – Goodwill of the Heartland is joining forces with Medieval Times to declare Monday, June 19, “Chivalry in Action Day.” From 1 to 3 p.m., the first 25 individuals making a purchase or donation at the Rock Island Goodwill store and donation center, 4664 44th St., will receive two complimentary dinner and tournament tickets to Medieval Times in northwest suburban Chicago.

The Wells Fargo Foundation has awarded a $2,000.00 grant to Churches United of the Quad City Area, in support of its community service programs in the Quad City Area. This support helps Churches United provide critical services such as Hunger, Shelter, and financial assistance to those in need.

MOLINE, Ill. – Wells4Wellness is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing safe, sanitary water wells to the people of Niger, Africa. Ten teams were challenged to cumulatively complete a virtual 6,000 mile walk for 60 days from the Quad Cities to Niger, Africa.

Cheer on the Hawkeyes and Cyclones, grab a tasty plate of tailgate barbeque, and help Churches United of the Quad City Area raise funds to feed the hungry at Kick Out Hunger on Saturday, Sept. 9th. Our fun and friend-raising event kicks off 30 minutes before the televised game time. Watch the game and enjoy tail gate party activities at the Ken Anderson Academic All-America Club overlooking Lindberg Stadium at the Knowlton Outdoor Athletic Complex on the Augustana College campus.

St. James Lutheran Church’s annual Rummage Sale & Bake Sale is Thursday, May 25 and Friday, May 26 from 8:30 a.m. -3:30 p.m. in the church Fellowship Hall. The church is located at 1705 Oak Street in Bettendorf. Items for sale include men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, books, toys, jewelry, linens and much more.

Churches United of the Quad City Area is very grateful to The Harold R. Bechtel Charitable Trust for a $5,000.00 grant, in support of its Scott County Food Pantries, a part of our Hunger Program.

All of the volunteers and staff at the Bettendorf Discovery Shop are hoping that you will be able to join us Monday, May 1st for our Garden event.  We are all ready to welcome spring by filling the shop with a variety of beautiful spring things that have been donated over the last year.
