The Accountability through Electronic Verification Act would permanently authorize the E-Verify program, an Internet–based system that assists employers in determining whether current or prospective employees are authorized to work in the United States.

Sen Charles "Chuck" Grassley Renews Probe of Non-Profit, Tax-Exempt Hospitals

WASHINGTON DC (February 25, 2019) — Senate Finance Committee Chairman Charles "Chuck" Grassley continued his years-long effort to ensure tax-exempt hospitals are fulfilling the standards for serving communities and low-income patients as required by law.

In a letter to IRS Commissioner Charles Rettig, Sen Grassley pressed for data on how many hospitals are in compliance with the requirements for tax exempt status and the status of IRS examinations of those not in compliance.

These bills would advance filing-dates five months for third-parties to Democrat/Republican primary-election deadlines and prohibit primary losers from filing candidacies as an independent or third-party.
