ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (December 4, 2020) — Quad City Arts’ plan to help regional artists stay motivated by creating artwork throughout the Quarantine, which began in March 2020, will continue into 2021 with the culminating exhibition of chosen works postponed to October 2021. The plan is to share the artwork with the public when we can safely gather socially.

MUSCATINE, IOWA (December 1, 2020) — The Public Art Advisory Commission for the City of Muscatine announces two public art opportunities. The first is a mural project on Houser Street, and organizations are invited to submit applications. Up to five organizations will be select to receive a $300 stipend to complete a mural project on a section of retaining wall between Hershey and Lucas.

DAVENPORT, Iowa (November 18, 2020) — The Putnam’s next exhibit will examine the role of play and toys through culture and time in society. From antiquity and from around the world guests will see toys that reflect societal norms and other sociological trends.

Play: The Story of Toys is an original Putnam exhibit, set to open Saturday, November 21. The exhibit will be included with general admission and remain open through 2021 at the Putnam, a Smithsonian Affiliate museum.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (October 16, 2020) On exhibit in Quad City Arts Rock Island Gallery through December 11 will be Extraordinary Women, large-scale paintings by Jaclyn Garlock.

MUSCATINE, IOWA (October 13, 2020) — A series of new short films will introduce Muscatine Access Channel Nine viewers and other local residents to Muscatine Civil War soldier, Daniel Parvin. "Muscatine and the Civil War: The Letters of Daniel Parvin" will premiere on October 23. The short film features actors Bryce Taylor as Daniel Parvin and Courtney Gevaert as his wife, Sarah Parvin.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (October 6, 2020) — Quad City Arts’ subscription series of benefit parties featuring artists from the Visiting Artist Series program will move online this fall with a virtual “dinner and a show”.
