DAVENPORT, IOWA (September 17, 2019) — The Putnam Museum and Science Center will open its doors free of charge to all Museum Day ticketholders on Saturday, September 21, as part of Smithsonian magazine’s 15th annual Museum Day, a national celebration of boundless curiosity in which participating museums emulate the free admission policy at the Smithsonian Institution’s Washington DC-based museums.

 

DAVENPORT, IOWA (September 16, 2019) — The valiant Riverssance Committee is about to launch the 2019 Riverssance weekend with around 90 quality visual artists drawn from a national Call for Entries, live local music, a children’s activity tent, and great food. The event takes place in scenic Lindsay Park in the Village of East Davenport.

On Wednesday, enjoy Cheeseburger Day. Thursday evening is the dinner dance, and on Friday, experience the fun of kids yoga. Each of these programs is free with regular museum-admission or membership.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (August 30, 2019) — With area students back in the classroom, the Putnam will kick off an all-new lineup of informal learning workshops starting September, with topics ranging from explosive volcanoes to “under-wraps” mummies.

Monthly Explorers and Explorers Jr. youth workshops return Saturday, Sept. 7, with openings for Pre-K through Grade 5, at the Putnam Museum and Science Center. Programs fill up quickly, and pre-registration is required.

CLINTON, IOWA (August 29, 2019) — The Felix Adler Children’s Discovery Center, "Clinton, Iowa's Children's Museum," is having a week of literary experiences. On Wednesday, learn why dragons love tacos. On Friday, bring your favorite book to Read a Book Day. Each of these programs is free with regular museum admission or membership.
