A quintet of debuting short plays will serve as the final new presentations on the Quad Cities' 2019 theatrical calendar, with New Ground Theatre's Playwrights' Festival, from December 20 through 22, treating audiences to five holiday-themed works written, directed, and performed by area talents.

A pair of multi-talented singer/songwriters with enormous fan bases and number-one Billboard hits team up for one sensational night at Davenport's Rhythm City Casino Resort Event Center, with the venue's December 29 engagement boasting a special concert event featuring Taylor Dayne of the chart-topping “Love Will Lead You Back” and the iconic “Tell It to My Heart,” and Tiffany of “Could've Been” and “I Think We're Alone Now” fame.

Performing at the Rock Island Brewing Company in celebration of both New Year's Eve and a certain change in Illinois law that will come into effect in 2020 (as RIBCO's website states, “all you know why!” the celebration is taking place), the reggae, rock, and dub musicians of Rude Punch ring in the new year with level vibes, jams, and plenty of holiday cheer in their December 31 engagement New Laws Eve.

For the second set of presentations in radio station WVIK and the Quad City Symphony Orchestra's 2019-20 Signature Series, the program's traditionally beautiful music gets seasonal in the December 14 and 15 concert event Holiday Brass, with respective audiences at Eldridge's North Scott High School and Moline's Bartlett Performing Arts Center treated to classic holiday favorites, celebrity-guest readings of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, and the talents of the Moline High School Choir.
