In the second performances of the Quad City Symphony Orchestra's 2017-18 Masterworks season, conductor Mark Russell Smith and his musicians heat up the fall with Western-themed compositions by local, national, and international talents, with special guest Bella Hristova accompanying the ensemble on violin.

RIBCO is set to host a special Wednesday-night concert with one of the country's most lauded and prolific metal bands, as the musicians of Thou have, over the past 10 years, released 10 EPs, four compilation albums, and five studio albums, with Pitchfork magazine naming 2014's Heathen “Best Metal Album of the Year.”

Appearing as the headliner in the River Music Experience's and Great Sounds Promotions' annual Smooth Jazz Fall Festival, chart-topping saxophonist Darius will share his talents that are comparable to those of the all-time greats, with JazzReview.com calling him “right up there with the Najees, the Gerald Albrights, and the Art Porters – he's that good.”

Performing a “two-act” concert featuring both acoustic and electric sets, the alternative rockers from Rhode Island play in support of their new albums Deer Tick Vol. 1 and Deer Tick Vol. 2 – releases that, as was stated on NoDepression.com, “represent a clear-headed and progressive move for a band that loves to push the envelope.”
