WEST DES MOINES, IOWA (April 24, 2024) — The Iowa Farm Bureau Federation (IFBF) has granted scholarships to 109 current and future college students looking to further their post-high school education within the agricultural industry.

FAYETTE, IOWA (April 24, 2024) — Upper Iowa University (UIU) is proud to announce Dr Celina Peerman will deliver the keynote address during the University's 2024 commencement ceremonies Saturday, May 4. Dr Peerman is UIU alumna with a Master's degree in Business Leadership, a PhD in Psychology, with undergraduate degrees in psychology and international studies.

GALESBURG, ILLINOIS (April 22, 2024) The Knox-Rootabaga Jazz Festival is back once again, featuring Grammy-nominated trumpeter Victor Garcia from May 14-18, 2024.

Renowned for his versatility and creativity, Garcia has performed alongside a wide array of artists, including Aretha Franklin, Arturo Sandoval, and Wynton Marsalis. His début album, The Grind/The Groove, released in 2018, received critical acclaim.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (April 22, 2024) — Twelve Augustana College juniors have been selected for the Texas Medical Center Summer Research Internship Program. The students were selected to take part in the paid, full-time, ten-week experience at the Texas Medical Center in Houston this summer.

Illinois Speaker of the House Representative Emanuel "Chris" Welch will deliver this year's Monmouth College Midwest Matters Lecture.

Welch will speak at 1PM, April 26, in the Hewes Library Studio Theater, which is on the lower level of Hewes Library. His talk is free and open to the public.

MONMOUTH, ILLINOIS (April 19, 2024) Around 3PM on Thursday, April 18, in the headquarters of Monmouth College's eighth annual Scots Day of Giving, the song "Magic Man" by Heart was playing, one of several tunes selected as part of a special "Monmouth Magic" playlist.

The donor page projected on the screen showed that Monmouth was nearing 75% of its main goal. By the time the day was done at 11:53PM, those numbers had grown, and several goals were reached.

LEBANON, ILLINOIS (April 19, 2024) — McKendree University's new Paraprofessional+ Pathway program has recently gained certification from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), making it the very first institution of higher learning in the state to have an approved apprenticeship program for paraprofessionals who hope to become licensed teachers.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (April 17, 2024) — Augustana College announces higher-education leader Dr Lisa Durant-Jones will deliver the commencement address at the college's 164th annual convocation on May 25. She will also be awarded a doctor of humane letters during the ceremony at the Vibrant Arena at the Mark.

MONMOUTH, ILLINOIS (April 16, 2024) — With an enrollment of 2,750 students, Homewood-Flossmoor High School in the south suburbs of Chicago is a behemoth. The Vikings' boys basketball team just won a state championship in Class 4A, the classification for the largest high schools in Illinois.

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE (April 16, 2024) More than fifty students and organizations were recognized for their leadership on campus at the 2024 Belmont Student Leadership Awards (BSLA) through the Division for Student Formation Wednesday, April 10.
