NORTH LIBERTY, IOWA (February 28, 2019) — In 2019, Iowa Donor Network (IDN) is celebrating 25 years of carrying out our mission of Working Together to Transform Lives Through Organ and Tissue Donation. Since March 1, 1994, IDN has served as Iowa's sole organ procurement organization. During that time, 1,378 organ donors have given 4,630 organs for transplant. In 2000, IDN added to our services becoming the state's only tissue recovery agency.

QUAD CITIES (February 27, 2019) — For the second year in a row, school absences at Quad Cities schools have dropped as a result of the “Challenge 5” initiative, a collaboration between United Way of the Quad Cities and eight local school districts in Scott and Rock Island counties and sponsored by the Arconic Foundation.

WEST DES MOINES, IOWA (February 26, 2019) — Iowa farmers, heralded around the globe for their ability to grow an abundance of food, are coming together to help the state’s residents most in need: families who must rely on food banks to fill their pantries. Because of overwhelming demand, the shelves are emptying out at food banks across the state, which is why hundreds of young farmers from Iowa Farm Bureau came together and raised $5,515 for the Food Bank of Iowa.

DES MOINES, IOWA (February 21, 2019)  To celebrate a joint donation of 39,200 pounds of food, representatives from Tyson Foods and Central Iowa Walmart stores volunteered together at Food Bank of Iowa on Thursday, February 21, 2019.

BETTENDORF, IOWA (February 21, 2019) — United Way of the Quad Cities announced today that local veteran fundraising professional, Jennifer von Kaenel has been named Senior Vice President, Resource Development, starting January 28, 2019. She returns to the organization where she served as Vice President of Major Gifts and Endowment from 2004-2005.
