DAVENPORT, IOWA (November 7, 2019) — The Vera French Foundation hosted its annual Gala on Saturday, October 26th at The Outing Club in Davenport, Iowa. The event celebrated the organization’s 70th anniversary. Since 1949, Vera French Community Mental Health Center (previously the Scott County Mental Health Center before being renamed after Dr Vera French in 1982) has been providing community mental health services.

According to organizer Sandy Seeley, many local children put a bicycle on their Christmas wish-list, but, sadly, many do not receive one because their families cannot afford it.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (October 7, 2019) — For the past 34 years, students from area high schools have joined River Bend Foodbank in the fight to end hunger in the Quad Cities. This year, students from 17 area high schools will participate in the Student Hunger Drive, which will engage them in meeting this community need, while introducing them to service and philanthropy.
