Lauded by the Los Angels Times as a hip-hop dance ensemble that's “able to use spins and locking to convey everything from grief to animalism to wisdom,” the touring talents of Antics serve as the latest guests in Quad City Arts' Visiting Artists series, their February 2 engagement at St. Ambrose University demonstrating why a recent performance inspired Explore Dance to rave, “Windmills, acrobatic back-flips, and uprock that oozed attitude were some of the dazzling dance feats on display.”

In a change from presenting a repertoire of different works in its Masterworks concerts, the Quad City Symphony Orchestra will take on one epic composition for its February 2 and 3 performances at Davenport's Adler Theatre and Rock Island's Augustana College: Mahler's 9th Symphony, an approximately 80-minute, four-movement masterpiece of profound introspection boasting some of Gustav Mahler’s most spiritual and heartfelt music.

Delivering what The Big Takeover describes as “muscular, meat-and-potatoes-style blues rock” and what The Dead Hub calls “old souls making incredible new music,” the Minneapolis-based rockers of The 4onthefloor enjoy a February 2 engagement as local Moeller Nights headliners, treating Davenport audiences to what MusicInMinnesota.com deemed “an exciting, drums-driven show with much-promised dancing, howling, and fun.”

Praised by the Bristol Evening Post as “a real winner” that earns “four stars out of four,” and by The Guardian for being a “slick, swashbuckling romp that cleverly updates the Dumas novel,” the literary classic The Three Musketeers enjoys a thrilling new stage presentation at Augustana College January 25 through February 3, with Tony Award nominee Ken Ludwig's 2007 adaptation delivering, according to The California Aggie, “two hours of pure awesomeness.”
