DES MOINES, IOWA (July 30, 2020)  Governor Kim Reynolds will return to regular bi-weekly press conferences to update Iowans on the state’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Similar to previous press conferences, they will be streamed live on broadcast and online feeds by Iowa PBS. There will also be an ASL sign-language interpreter as well as a Spanish-language translation.

DES MOINES, IOWA (July 27, 2020) Governor Kim Reynolds today announced her appointment of John Flynn as a district court judge in Judicial Election District 2B.

Flynn, of Boone, Iowa, currently practices law with the Jordan and Mahoney Law Firm PC in Boone. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa and his law degree from the Drake University Law School.

Included in the March 2020 Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act were three programs with less-euphonious acronyms: FPUC, PEUC, and PUA. These programs extended (by 13 weeks), expanded (to self-employed workers), and added a $600-per-week federal kicker to, state-level unemployment benefits. As July comes to a close, more than 25 million Americans are about to lose that federal kicker.

The site is opening in conjunction with Floyd Valley Healthcare and will be located at 714 Lincoln Street NE in LeMars. Testing will be done 1-5PM, Monday through Friday, this week.
