A thrilling collaboration between Galesburg's professional vocal group Nova Singers and Minnesota's professional bluegrass band Monroe Crossing, The World Beloved – A Bluegrass Mass will be performed in both Galesburg and Davenport on April 9 and 10, each group performing individually and then taking the stage together to present a unique piece that combines traditional choral music with folk and bluegrass styles.

Described by the Texas Standard as "a multimedia love letter to the Texas coast, with voices and images from the Gulf set to an original score," the touring event The Living Coast comes to the University of Dubuque's Heritage Center on April 13, the performance's Montopolis ensemble a group that, according to the Houston Chronicle, "can create forceful sounding songs that have a bit of rock ‘n roll snarl, but is also capable of mournful classical sounding pieces.”

Touring in support of the 2021 album I Want the Door to Open that Pitchfork raved “slips into new grooves on each track like a mind in a perfect state of creative flow,” Lillie West's music project Lala Lala headlines an April 13 concert at Davenport's Raccoon Motel, the artist herself praised by Paste magazine for “her compressed yet stadium-ready indie-rock sound.”

An in-person presentation focused on a fascinating period in German-American history, author Aaron Spencer Fogleman's program Hopeful Journeys: German Immigration, Settlement, & Political Culture in Colonial America, 1717 – 1775 will be held at Davenport's German American Heritage Center on April 8, his book of the same title the first comprehensive account of this 18th-century German settlement of North America.

One of America's most gifted jazz musicians and the local city that shaped him will be the subjects of an April 7 presentation at the Davenport Public Library Fairmount Branch when Nathaniel Kraft presents Riverboats, Bix, & Davenport's History with Shaping American Music, a deep dive into the life and career of noted cornet player, pianist, composer, and summer-race namesake Bix Beiderbecke.
