The funny bone of one of the United States' most revered presidents will be explored at the Davenport Public Library Eastern Branch on April 6 when historian and former professor William Hampes presents The Humor of American Lincoln, a program focusing on the types of humor that Lincoln used, how he used them in politics and his personal life to achieve his goals, and what his sense of humor demonstrated about his personality.

After a pandemic-delayed year away from Quad Cities fans, the CINCH World's Toughest Rodeo makes its long-awaited return visit to Moline's TaxSlayer Center on April 2 and 3, treating patrons to entertainment from a number of favorite touring performers and, as always, exceptional feats of bull, saddle bronc, and bareback riding.

Breathtaking works by University of Iowa Department of Dance MFA thesis candidates Juliet Remmers and Michael Landez will be showcased in the university's thesis-concert event Timeless Motion, its March 30 through April run at Iowa City's Space/Place Theatre boasting four choreographed works including the legendary José Limón's 1949 masterpiece The Moor's Pavane.

A 2016 Tony Award nominee and a tune-filled farce that the New York Daily News named one of its year's top-10 must-see musicals, the heady and hysterical Disaster! opens Quad City Music Guild's 2022 season with an April 1 through 10 run at Moline's Prospect Park Auditorium, this jukebox delight inspiring Time Out New York's Adam Feldman to rave, "I can’t remember the last time I laughed out loud at the theatre as often as I did at Disaster!"

Winner of five 2012 Tony Awards and lauded by the New York Times as a comedy that “never stops flying,” the rib-tickling family adventure Peter & the Starcatcher runs at Moline's Spotlight Theatre April 1 through 10, the show a ticklishly original Peter Pan origin story that employs clever stagecraft and the limitless possibilities of imagination to bring its J.M. Barrie-inspired tale to life.

Praised by the Las Cruces Sun-News as "a delightful comedy with a touch of silliness" and "a zany and funny story with plot twists galore," the stage riot Drinking Habits enjoys a March 31 through April 10 at the Richmond Hill Barn Theatre, this first show in the Geneseo venue's 2022 season inspiring Willits News to rave that "those in need of a good laugh ... can rest assured that's what they'll get."

Noted 20th-century photographer Aaron Siskind was quoted as saying, "Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever … . It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.” This act of remembering will be on glorious display at the Figge Art Museum through July 3, with the Davenport venue housing works previously unseen in the Quad Cities via the arresting exhibition New Photography.

If you’ve ever opted into watching one yourself, you can rightly assume that you’re in for a treat with the Circa '21 Dinner Playhouse's latest offering Just Desserts, its book and lyrics by Barbara Campbell and its music by Brad Ross.

What a treat it was to enjoy this fresh story, with rousing music, performed by some of the most passionate, committed actors I've recently seen – and to know that it was powered by local minds and hearts. So much work went into this treasure.

Korn, March 25

Rock icons noted for pioneering the nu metal genre and bringing it into the mainstream, the chart-topping, platinum-selling musicians of Korn play an eagerly anticipated concert at Moline's TaxSlayer Center on March 25, the group's Billboard hits including the albums The Serenity of Suffering, Untouchables, Life Is Peachy, and the number-one smashes Follow the Leader and Issues.

On March 26, Davenport's Adler Theatre invites audiences of all ages to “Be Our Guest!” for the touring arrival of Disney Princess: The Concert, a special event that features a quartet of Broadway, Disney Channel, and animated-film icons celebrating all the Disney princesses in an unforgettable evening of songs, animation, and stories.

On March 30, one of the most iconic and tireless talents in the history of rock makes his eagerly anticipated arrival at Davenport's Adler Theatre with the venue hosting the artist whom The Rolling Stone Album Guide calls “the world's most beloved heavy-metal entertainer” – Alice Cooper, whose 2021 album Detroit Stories was praised by the Associated Press as “a masterpiece of classic rock, soul and R&B in homage to the city that produced him.”

Richard Misrach, one of the most influential photographers of his generation, will be the featured guest in the Figge Art Museum's March 24 virtual artist talk on Border Cantos / Sonic Borders, the Davenport venue's exhibition in which Misrach and artist/composer Guillermo Galindo explore the complexities of the southern border through photography, sculpture, and sound.

With Jake Kroeger of The Comedy Bureau calling her 2015 album Pig Woman "especially mischievous and fun" with a "down-to-earth, Midwestern zeitgeist," comedian Mary Mack brings her signature standup set to Davenport's Rhythm City Casino Resort Rhythm Room on March 24, the artist known for her work in television, on radio, and in comedy albums, including her most recent recording Comedy Bootleg 2020.
