A holiday-themed sequel to the venue's slapstick smash from 2017, A Doublewide, Texas Christmas serves as a season-ending presentation at Geneseo's Richmond Hill Barn Theatre, with the comedy's November 7 through 17 run sure to demonstrate why Theatre Mirror proclaimed, “If you want to spend two hours suspending belief, forgetting your troubles, and just laughing at the silliness, this is the show for you.”

A delightfully engaging stage mystery whose film version introduced the world to the iconic detective Lt. Columbo, authors William Link's and Richard L. Levinson's Prescription: Murder wraps up the Playcrafters Barn Theatre's 2019 season with its November 8 through 17 run, this “arresting” comic thriller sure to prove why British Theatre Guide raved, “For fans of Columbo, and of detective stories in general, this is certainly worth seeing.”

In a brief break from its fall residencies with lauded musicians, Quad City Arts' Visiting Artists Series welcomes best-selling author, award winning documentarian, and longtime history enthusiast Rick Beyer for an area stay November 5 through 9, with the widely acclaimed creator of PBS' The Ghost Army a frequent guest on CBS News, MSNBC, CNN, the Discovery Channel, Fox News, and NPR.

Touring in support of the band's September release Miracle Pill – a recording Cryptic Rock deemed “a journey full of heartfelt emotion and well-constructed tunes” – Grammy-nominated rockers the Goo Goo Dolls play Davenport's Adler Theatre on November 6, the musicians' 12th full-length album described by Pop Matters as “new music that easily stands alongside the best of their career.”

Chart-topping rockers whose illustrious career has seen the release of 16 studio albums, four live albums, and seven compilations (including 2019's 50th Anniversary: Golden Hits), the Grammy Award-winning band America enjoys a special engagement at Davenport's Rhythm City Casino Resort Event Center on November 9, playing from a five-decade repertoire boasting such classic hits as “Tin Man,” “Sister Golden Hair,” and the iconic “A Horse with No Name.”

A three-time Grammy Award winner, Golden Globe-winning actor, Academy Award-nominated songwriter, and inductee in the Country Music Hall of Fame makes a rare appearance at the Adler Theatre on November 13 as the Davenport venue hosts a night with Kris Kristofferson & the Strangers, a concert event led by the folk, country, and Americana singer/songwriter who has been a pop-culture icon for a full half-century.

Even if the movie itself was only half as good as it is, the bio-comedy Dolemite Is My Name would be worth a watch – several watches, actually – just for the pleasure of seeing Eddie Murphy happier on-screen than he's seemed in ages.
