ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (February 14, 2024) — The Augustana OperX program will perform “Amahl and the Night Visitors” at 7PM, Saturday, February 17, on the Brunner Theatre Main Stage. Dr Patrick McNally (below), assistant professor of music and director of opera, will direct the performance.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (February 13, 2024) — Augustana College announced more than 1,100 students were named to the Dean's List for the 2023-2024 fall semester. Students who have earned this academic honor have maintained a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher on a four-point scale for courses taken during the term.

MONMOUTH, ILLINOIS (February 13, 2024) Two of America's most respected and widely-honored theater and film artists — writer/director Jim Simpson and actor Sigourney Weaver — will jointly deliver the address at Monmouth College's 167th Commencement Exercises, to be held on Sunday, May 19.

Simpson and Weaver, who have been married for nearly forty years, will speak on the theme of "creative partnership."

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (February 12, 2024) — The Augustana Choir, under the direction of Dr Jon Hurty, will perform concerts in California March 21-25, followed by a home concert on April 6 in Davenport.

The 54-voice ensemble, known for its innovative programming, attention to detail, and musical excellence, will perform at five Southern California churches. The tour will include collaborations with choirs directed by Augustana alumni Brent Wilson and Jens Hurty, Dr Hurty’s son.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (February 12, 2024) — Augustana College will host the annual Shockingly Modern Saxophone Festival February 24. The event, featuring guest artist Kyle Hutchins of Virginia Tech, will be held at Bergendoff Hall, 3520 7th Ave, Rock Island, Illinois. All events are free and open to the public.

The festival also will feature performances from Augustana faculty and the Augustana College Saxophone Studio.

KENOSHA, WISCONSIN (February 12, 2024) — The following Carthage College students traveled during J-Term, a month-long period to explore subject areas. A Carthage tradition since the early 1970s, J-Term, or January Term, study tours allow students to experience new cultures and ideas without committing to a full semester abroad.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (February 8, 2024) — The Augustana Symphonic Band, directed by Dr James Lambrecht, will tour the Midwest in March. The fifty-member ensemble will perform in four cities from March 22-26.
