Metro Arts Apprenticeship Program concludes with showcase, ribbon cutting

Davenport, Iowa – June 13 and 14, 2017      

Later this week, Quad City Arts will celebrate the 18th annual Metro Arts program with an apprentice showcase and ribbon cutting for the mural at Fejervary Learning Center, Davenport.

Come to the Davenport Public Library for an art lesson presented by the Figge Art Museum. This one-hour session will introduce students to the elements of art and principles of design and encourage students to think creatively while experimenting with a variety of art materials. Meet us at Fairmount (3000 Fairmount Street) on Thursday July 27 at 1:00pm. Registration is required and space is limited so sign up today!

Public is invited to purchase birthday gift on new Amazon Wish List

COAL VALLEY, Ill. (July 10, 2017) – Niabi Zoo’s beloved buff-cheeked gibbon, CJ, is celebrating her 18th birthday at on Sat., July 15, and you’re invited!

The birthday celebration includes a special zookeeper chat at 11 a.m. outside the gibbon habitat and enrichment activities for the gibbons every hour on the hour from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Davenport, IA - Beréskin Fine Art Gallery and Studio presents the newest works from Jeff Allen and gallery owner Pat Bereskin from July 25 to August 19 with an opening reception to be held on Friday, July 28th from 6 to 9 p.m.  As part of the exhibit artists will host a "Plein Air Paint Out" in Downtown Davenport on Saturday, July 15th from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Artists may register online.

Learn up-to-date facts and paleontology discoveries that are sure to keep children engaged and excited with the Putnam Museum Presents Dinosaurs! at the Davenport Library. Students will learn the difference between a dinosaur and a flying or swimming reptile, how dinosaurs got their name and what they ate and finish with a discussion of fossils. Join us at Fairmount (3000 Fairmount) on Thursday July 20 at 3:00pm for this special event!
