Ever wonder how paleontologists learn about dinosaurs? Come and discover the joy of digging, explore the Putnam’s fossil collection, and make your own fossils in the first "Fantastic Fossils" Explorers workshop of the season!

Putnam Explorers (grades 2-5) & Explorers Jr. (pre-k* – 1st grade) workshops are a way for children to examine, investigate, create and invent while exploring different themed areas of the museum.

The Muscatine Art Center is pleased to announce that it has received a $10,000 grant from the Cultural Leadership Partners (CLP) program from the Iowa Arts Council, a division of the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs. Grant funds will support wages for weekend staff and specific museum purposes such as purchasing archival materials and presenting public programs.

As a valued supporter of Metro Arts Alliance, we wanted to share some news with you: the Board of Directors and staff leadership of Metro Arts Alliance of Greater Des Moines made the difficult decision on August 16, 2017 to cease operations after almost 42 years of providing access to the arts in our community.

DES MOINES – Marcia Joffe-Bouska of Council Bluffs and Allison Goehring of Milford were named winners of the sixth annual “Celebration of Iowa: Agriculture Art Exhibit” contest today at the Iowa State Fair.
 
(CEDAR RAPIDS, IA) – On Thursday, September 7, 2017, the African American Museum of Iowa will recognize four outstanding individuals as History Makers at the Museum’s annual History Makers Gala. The honorees will be presented awards and accolades for the significant impact they have made in their communities and their indelible mark on Iowa’s rich history. 
 

(Moline, Ill.) Living Proof Exhibit, which celebrates the creative spirit of cancer survivors, is teaming up with the Muscatine Art Center to display a juried exhibition and provide two free Creative Sessions to cancer patients, survivors, and families touched by cancer.
