Did you know that 13,390 Quad City area children do not have access to a sufficient quantity of affordable, nutritious food? This March the Quad City Symphony Orchestra will team up with River Bend Food Bank to raise funds, collect food donations, and pull together volunteers to work towards the goal of ending hunger in the Quad Cities.

Rock Island, IL $2.000 was awarded to Christian Care from the City of Rock Island’s Gaming Funds. The funding will support a partnership between the Rock Island County Council on Addictions and Christian Care for the provision of on-site substance abuse counseling services. Christian Care provides safe shelter, food, clothing and other supportive services to homeless men in our community and is the only homeless men’s shelter in the Illinois Quad Cities.

 Quad Cities, January 24, 2018: Six Quad Cities non-profit organizations just got a boost in their fight against hunger.

Rev. Dr. Melvin Grimes has been selected by the Churches United of the Quad City Area Board of Directors to serve as Interim Executive Director. Dr. Grimes will continue the tradition of Christian faith-based leadership until a new Executive Director is chosen to replace Anne Wachal, who stepped down in December.

DAVENPORT - Join us for the 9th Annual Winter Wine Experience, presented by Dimitri Wine & Spirits and sponsored by Estes Construction, a wine tasting and fundraiser! 

Winter Wine is the kick off for RME's Annual Appeal, and helps fund all of the music and educational programming at RME. In 2017, RME's outreach grew by over 30% and we reached 15,000+ area students. We want to keep growing, but we can't do that without support from amazing community members like you.

Rock Island, Ill.  –

Local artists will present a check for $1,700 to Quad City Arts’ Metro Youth Apprenticeship Program at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, at Quad City Arts’ Rock Island Gallery, 1715, 2nd Ave., Rock Island.  This donation comes from the proceeds of the recent sale of Dean Timmermann’s drawings.

Rock Island, IL Christian Care was awarded grant funding of $2,000 from the Wilbert and Carol Keppy Charitable Foundation, $1,000 from the Harris Family Charitable Fund at the Community Foundation of the Great River Bend and $1,769 from the Mel McKay Trust. Funds will be used to support the various programs and services provided through Christian Care.

The Endowment Committee of Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline has approved a funding request for $2,000 toward shelter repairs at Winnie’s Place, the only emergency shelter in the Illinois Quad Cities for women, with or without children, who are homeless and/or survivors of domestic abuse. In addition to shelter, food, and basic needs, Winnie’s Place offers counseling, advocacy, and education in life skills to help these women and their families build toward a more successful future.

December 19, 2017 - Between now until the end of February, you can make your lunch count by dining at California Pho Restaurant, 3559 West Kimberly Road in Davenport on Wednesdays. During this period, a percentage of proceeds from meals to the 46th Annual Quad Cities CROP Hunger Walk. Everyone is invited to dine and share with friends and family as well.
