Grimes, IA – The annual Special Olympics Iowa (SOIA) Unified Sports Day at Cornell College in Mt. Vernon will be held Saturday, December 16. SOIA athletes from Cedar Rapids, Clinton, Dubuque, Mt. Vernon, the Quad Cities, Vinton and the surrounding area are expected to attend. They will partner with Cornell College students for a day of unified activities. 
 

This evening Rivermont’s Varsity Basketball, girls, and boys, teams will play Quad City Christian at home. The season will be dedicated to Coach Dave Wessel between games. Varsity girls begin at 5:30 p.m. and the boys are scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. Coach Wessel served as Rivermont’s head coach from 2009 until his passing last May.

MOLINE, Ill. – The Quad Cities Convention & Visitors Bureau announced today the return of the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Women’s Basketball Tournament to the TaxSlayer Center, 1201 River Drive in downtown Moline, Illinois, for its third year on March 8-11, 2018.  The MVC Women’s Basketball Championship will celebrate its 25th Anniversary during the 2018 tournament.

CLIVE, Iowa, Dec. 5, 2017 – An eastern Iowa man has claimed a $30,000 lottery prize.

Gregory Fix of Blue Grass claimed the 11th of 19 top prizes of $30,000 available in the Iowa Lottery’s “Jolly Holiday Crossword” scratch game.

Fix bought his winning ticket at Casey’s, 3700 W. Locust St. in Davenport, and claimed his prize Monday at the lottery’s regional office in Cedar Rapids.

The Quad City Steamwheelers Professional Indoor Football Team is gearing up for not only a return to the Quad Cities, but the efforts to bring home a 3rd National Championship. Federal grant of $1.2 million to fund 26-mile trail system at wildlife area near Harrisburg
