With special attention paid to Roddewig Schmidt Candy Company, Velma Chocolates, and other former Quad Cities institutions, Davenport's German American Heritage Center will, through May 19, explore different candy manufacturers in our area in the exhibition Sweet Treats: German Influence on the QC Candy Industry, demonstrating how the Quad Cities were once home to numerous candy manufacturers of German heritage popular both locally and regionally.

An eagerly awaited tradition featuring dozens of recent and debuting works in a variety of artistic mediums, the 43rd edition of the Rock Island Art Guild Fine Arts Exhibition will be on display at the Figge Art Museum through June 2, with the Davenport venue housing 62 works - paintings, sculptures, installations, and more - by 42 artists living within a 200-mile radius of the Quad Cities.

Traveling the country in support of their most recent recording Okemah Rising, which Blabbermouth deemed “imaginative and unique” and Punktastic hailed as “an excellent acoustic album,” the Boston-based rockers of Dropkick Murphys bring their “St. Patrick's Day Tour 2024” to East Moline venue The Rust Belt on February 25, the group's latest release also lauded by Top Shelf Music as “a testament to the band's creativity and talent.”

Lauded by The Daily Iowan as an ensemble that boasts "a seamless sound that makes classifying music by genre a thing of the past," the ever-popular reggae, rock, and dub musicians of Rude Punch headline the downtown-Davenport party of the season in the Redstone Building Birthday Celebration, the February 24 event at Zeke's Island Cafe held in honor of the 10th anniversary of Zeke's Island Cafe and the 20th anniversary of Common Chord.

Hailed by The Greenroom magazine as "an explosive guitar player that has a soulful voice and whose brilliant melodies set him apart from his contemporaries," Devil City Angels rocker Brandon Gibbs headlines a special birthday show at Moline venue Rascals Live on February 24, The Greenroom adding that "Gibbs’ songwriting takes you on an incredible journey throughout the performance" and that "his heart and soul pour out of him on stage through his music."

Designed as a brilliant artistic revival and celebration of China’s rich cultural heritage, the stage artists of Shen Yun bring their national tour to Davenport's Adler Theatre on February 27, with the Chicago Tribune calling the event's performers "a beautiful and haunting ensemble" that boasts "a nimble mastery of traditional talents."
