Opening Riverside Theatre's 2022-23 season with a one-woman comedy about love, sex, and existential dread, playwright/performer Megan Doherty brings the world premiere of Chipmunk'd to the Iowa City venue September 9 through October 2, her latest solo describing the real-life incident in which Gogerty got bit by a chipmunk in her backyard - an event that set off an increasingly alarming chain of disasters for her and her family.

Through January 15, the works of three accomplished and innovative printmakers will be on view in the Figge Art Museum's Erwin Eisch, Mauricio Lasansky, & Zoya Cherkassky: Artists Remember, the Davenport venue's exhibition presented in conjunction with the community-wide Holocaust-remembrance project "Out of Darkness: Holocaust Messages for Today” (OutOfDarknessQC.com).

A Midwestern comedian, New York Times bestselling author, Emmy-winning journalist, and musician whose content for his various social platforms has amassed more than five million followers, Charlie Berens takes the stage at Davenport's Adler Theatre on September 10, the Wisconsin native famed for his appearances on Comedy Central, Funny or Die, and MTV News.

Revered for such chart-topping singles as "Down," "Love Song," and "Don't Tread On Me," the genre-hopping alternative-rock talents of 311 headline a September 10 concert at Davenport's Rhythm City Casino Resort Event Center, their latest album Voyager praised by Cryptic Rock as "yet another impressive release by a band who continues to stay young and flourish more than two decades into their own voyage."

With their most recent album High in the Saddle praised by Metal Temple as "crisp, resonating, and thick with bass which compliments Big Dad Ritch's vocals," the heavy-metal and southern-rock musicians of Texas Hippie Coalition headline a September 10 concert at East Moline venue The Rust Belt, their 2019 recording's song "Tongue Like a Devil" boasting what Maximum Volume Music called "a hook so big you could hang your barbecue on it."

Delivering what Glide magazine calls a "heady combination of psych rock, funk, Latin rock, and soul," the musicians of El Perro play a September 14 concert at Davenport's Bootleg Hill Honey Meads, this recently formed outfit the latest project fronted by Radio Moscow guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, and producer Parker Griggs.

Following successful indoor and outdoor performances at Davenport's River Music Experience Courtyard last summer and fall, the Quad Cities musicians and energetic talents of Heads in Motion return to Bettendorf venue The Tangled Wood on September 10, with the 10-piece ensemble paying tribute to Oscar, Grammy, and Tony Award winner David Byrne and his iconic rock outfit Talking Heads.

Visitors to the Muscatine Art Center can explore two very different stories from Muscatine’s past through October 23, with the venue's main floor hosting Captivated by Japan: Laura Musser McColm & Her Era, and the Stanley Gallery's middle floor housing a series of graphic illustrations by Sean Fitzgibbon.

With the exhibit on display through October 31 in conjunction with the community-wide Holocaust-remembrance project "Out of Darkness: Holocaust Messages for Today” (OutOfDarknessQC.com), the story of one of the most inspirational figures in world history comes to life in Anne Frank: A History for Today, an expansive and moving touring exhibition hosted by Davenport's Putnam Museum & Science Center.

On September 1, the winners of the Midwest Writing Center's 2021 and 2022 Great River Writer's Retreats will share their talents at the Rock Island Public Library's downtown branch, with the public invited to appreciate the literary stylings of this year's recipient Jo Ivy Young and last year's honoree Jeffrey Wolf.

Touring in support of her forthcoming Loose Future, the title track for which was praised by Consequence of Sound as "a poignant ode to the unpredictability of life," indie-pop and folk singer/songwriter Courtney Marie Andrews headlines a September 2 concert at Davenport's Raccoon Motel, the artist's 2020 album Old Flowers – a Grammy nominee for Best Americana album – lauded by Rolling Stone for "Andrews' bell-clear voice and fearless message of introspection."

Currently touring in support of her solo studio-album debut, and well-known as the founder, lead singer/songwriter, and guitarist of the punk-rock outfits Against Me! and The Devouring Mothers, Laura Jane Grace performs a special solo concert at Davenport's Raccoon Motel on September 4, her critically acclaimed Stay Alive lauded by Guitar World as "bold and bright and beautifully bare-bones, packed with delicate acoustic twangs and tongue-in-cheek lyrical whimsy."

With its first major engagement following its name change from the TaxSlayer Center to the Vibrant Arena at the MARK, Moline's amphitheater will host three of the most successful and enduring acts in the history of rock on September 6, a night boasting the iconic, chart-topping talents of REO Speedwagon, Styx, and Loverboy.
