On September 29, the chart-topping, Grammy-winning rockers of the Eagles will be celebrated when Rock Island's Circa '21 Dinner Playhouse hosts 7 Bridges: The Ultimate Eagles Tribute, an evening of beloved, iconic hits sure to include such chart-toppers as "Best of My Love," "One of These Nights," "Heartache Tonight," and "Hotel California."

Now celebrating their tenth year of genre-hopping performance, the tribute musicians of Have Your Cake serve as the showcased musical guests at The Tangled Wood on October 1, their return to the Bettendorf venue boasting hits from the Cake repertoire that includes such albums as Comfort Eagle, Pressure Chief, and the Billboard chart-topper Showroom of Compassion.

A fascinating exhibition commemorating the bravery and integrity of a group of students in the face of political evil and popular indifference, The White Rose: The Student Resistance Against Hitler, Munich 1942-1943 will be on display at Davenport's German American Heritage Center through February 26, the informative and thought-provoking touring exhibit on loan from the White Rose Foundation in Munich, Germany.

Founded in 2015 by the Quad Cities Cybersecurity Alliance and presented by the Docent Institute, the eighth-annual CornCon – an event designed to raise community awareness and provide business solutions for dealing with cybersecurity threats – will boast breakout sessions, expert speakers, panels, tutorials, vendors, a tech expo, children's activities and more on September 30 and October 1, this year's Davenport RiverCenter event titled The Corn Matrix.

Before proceeding, allow me to share my amazement in a weekend happenstance I hadn't previously experienced over nearly three decades of reviewing: I saw five new movies and enjoyed them all – a lot. Even the horror prequel whose predecessor debuted fewer than six months ago. Even the reboot of a planned Chevy Chase franchise that died in 1989.

A celebration of LGBTQ+ culture, entertainment, and inclusion will be enjoyed in LeClaire Park over the September 23 and 24 weekend, with the Davenport LeClaire the site for the 2022 Quad Cities Fall Pride Festival, an eagerly anticipated, all-ages happening boasting live music, drag shows, burlesque, DJs, dance parties, food and merchant vendors, and more.

Delivering what Broadway World deemed “a powerful true story” and a “provocative solo performance,” film, television, and stage actor Tom Dugan brings his self-written one-man drama Wiesenthal: The Nazi Hunter to the University of Dubuque's Heritage Center on September 19, the work a horrific, informational, and even, on occasion, humorous presentation in the 10th annual Live at Heritage Center Performing Arts Series.

Beloved for offering an expansive site for respite and reflection, Wheatland, Iowa's Our Lady of the Prairie Retreat is revered for its beautiful grounds that include gardens, fields, timber, trails, a labyrinth, a nature pond, and a soothing Retreat Center. It's a lovely oasis of quiet where a monthly get-together is actually called "Come to the Quiet." Yet on September 24, visitors will actually be treated to five hours' worth of sounds. Beguiling, diverse, supremely musical sounds.

From September 23 through October 1, Davenport venue the Mockingbird on Main will house writer/director Alexander Richardson's re-imagining of Thornton Wilder's stage classic Our Town, fittingly titled Their Town. If the title sounds familiar, that might be because the show was recently staged at the Playcrafters Barn Theatre in Moline. If you weren't able to see it, Richardson absolutely understands a potential reason why: It was staged in March of 2020.

With No Depression praising their singular blend of "rootsy Americana, ’70s psych, lo-fi garage rock, and some good old country-western," the touring artists of The Deslondes headline a September 27 concert at Davenport's Raccoon Motel in support of their recent release Ways & Means, an album that delivers, according to Glide magazine, the band's strongest, most eclectic sound yet, setting the bar where all future records will be judged."

Touring in support of their most recent, self-titled album lauded by American Songwriter as "a sonic excursison" that "transforms folk tunes into hypnotic charmers," the chart-topping indie-folk and bluegrass artists of Mipso play a September 23 concert at Davenport's Raccoon Motel, their latest recording a work in which, according to Paste magazine, "the Americana quartet finds warmth in sticking together."

Offering a pre-Halloween treat for art and history lovers, Davenport's German American Heritage Center will, on September 22, present Heavenly Bodies: A Virtual Talk with Photographer Paul Koudounaris, in which the noted author will deliver an online lecture on how he came to photograph intricately adorned skeletons in basilicas across Europe.

A favorite summertime event moved to the fall for 2022, downtown Iowa City's beloved Soul & Blues Festival is back to enthrall live audiences on September 23 and 24, with this year's weekend schedule including a Black authors' panel, Caribbean-dance demonstrations, youth performances, and thrilling concert sets by the likes of Kevin Burt, Demetria Taylor, and the Mike Wheeler Band.

With the EP's release in October of 2020 making a correlating live-music event impossible, Davenport's Redstone Room will celebrate acoustic artist Soultru's The Truth with an official EP-release concert on September 24, the artist and his guest musicians performing recent favorites as well as some unreleased music, and joined for the evening opening acts Jim Swim and Kumate.

Appearing as the first guests in Quad City Arts' 2022-23 Visiting Artists Series, the Latin-folk fusion ensemble Son Monarcas will deliver a trio of public performances from September 20 through 23, the musicians dedicated to unfolding a world of experience for students of all backgrounds to learn about world cultures, language, geography, history, math, and more through the arts, providing a special focus in traditional Latin music and dance.

Held in conjunction with the Figge Art Museum's new exhibition Peace, Power & Prestige: Metal Arts in Africa, a virtual curator talk with the exhibit's curator Dr. Susan Cooksey – Curator Emerita of African Art at the Harn Museum of Art – will take place on September 22, providing a fascinating exploration into the roles of metal objects in sustaining and enhancing life in African communities.
