LeCLAIRE, IOWA (April 25, 2019) — The public and media are invited to help LeClaire, Iowa celebrate its Cultural and Entertainment District (CED) on Friday, May 3, at 5PM, at the Mississippi River Distilling Company with a LeClaire Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting during First Friday and other fun activities. Local legislators, LeClaire Chamber, Visit Quad Cities, and Chris Kramer and Liesl Voges from the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs will be on-hand to help us celebrate.

LECLAIRE, IOWA (April 24, 2019) — Gather your friends and head out to LeClaire! 13 businesses will be pouring samples of wine and some will be serving small bites, too.

In addition to the great downtown shops, there will be vendors in the LeClaire Civic Center, 127 S Cody Road, selling cosmetics, handmade-jewelry, clothing, and baked goods, starting at 3PM.

MUSCATINE, IOWA (April 17, 2019) — The 18th Amendment went into effect in 1920, prohibiting anyone from selling, manufacturing, importing, or exporting liquor. With its statewide prohibition in 1916, Iowa was one of the three key prohibition states that led the movement. Iowa author and historian Linda McCann will present on Prohibition in eastern Iowa on Thursday, May 2, at the Muscatine Art Center.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (April 17, 2019) — Commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Invasion of Normandy during World War II by joining Kevin Braafladt, as the Army Sustainment Command Deputy Historian at the Rock Island Arsenal, in discussing the turning of the tide in the Pacific theatre and the Battle of Midway. The lecture will be held Wednesday, May 8, at 2PM at Eastern, 6000 Eastern Ave. 

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (April 16, 2019) — Members of the Quad City Botanical Center are invited to our annual Egg Hunt this Saturday, April 20, 8-10 AM. Bring your basket to fill with goodies and enjoy the outdoor hunt.

Four groups will gather for the 9AM hunt sorted by age: 0-2, 3-4, 5-7 and 8-12.

Crafts and games are included as our way of saying thank you for being a member of the Botanical Center.
