“Stand & Deliver,” August 19

Presented as a special event in the Quad Cities Latino Cinema Series, the Oscar-nominated inspirational-teacher drama Stand & Deliver enjoys an August 19 screening at Davenport venue The Last Picture House, writer/director Ramón Menéndez's 1988 film the winner of the Independent Spirit Award for Best Feature, and a work selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant."

Thursday, August 6: Discussion of Spider Man: Brand New Day, and previews of One Night Only, I Want Your Sex, Maddie's Secret, Ice Cream Man, and Super Troopers 3. Mike claims he's never seen a Super Troopers before. One minute after the segment ended, Dave proved him wrong by pulling up Mike's 2018 review of Super Troopers 2. Not a good sign of how memorable the third one might be.
